The vibration of linear guideway type (LGT) recirculating linearballbearing driven at a constant linear velocity was studied. The measurement results of the vibration showed that the overall levels of vibratory velocity of the LGT recirculating linearballbearings change with the measurement point of the vibration, and they are affected by linear velocity and preload. We also observed the main peaks in the vibration spectra of the LGT recirculating linearball bearing itself. The main peaks were analyzed using the modal analysis, the frequency expressions for the rigid-body natural vibrations of the carriage and the finite element method. As a result, it was made clear that the main peaks are caused by the lower rolling, the yawing, the pitching, the vertical, the higher rolling, the first flexural, the second flexural and the third flexural natural vibrations of the carriage.
